As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Author name should be stated on the cover sheet only
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

Manuscript Format and Submission:

  1. A cover sheet containing the title of the paper, the authors' names and addresses and the indication of the corresponding author, a biographical note (3 lines) for each author, the abstract (250 words) and 5 keywords;
  2. An anonymised version of the paper (double-spaced), including the title, in Microsoft Word. Tables, graphs/pictures/etc should be included in the appropriate places within the Word document.

Length: Papers should not exceed 10,000 words, including abstract (250 words max), references, tables and figures.

References: This journal uses the Sage Harvard (author-date) system of references. Style guide: references. You can download the EndNote output style, or the Zotero style.

Spelling, Punctuation, and Style: Follow the Oxford English Dictionary (UK English) and Fowler's Modern English Usage. The Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors and the Oxford Guide to Style are useful additional sources of reference.
